Holt Park is a fairly small park with a pond! Not a very big pond as you can see. When I went I saw two Moore Hen chicks moving about on the surface on the pond and on the water lilies. Although we spent a long time debating what they were. Then a friend noticed that there was something moving along the surface of the water. A white dot that seemed to float along with no real direction. Something that was very long. It was quickly identified as a grass snake. Excitement for two minutes before it dashed into the bushes. There’s not much at Holt Park, trees, gorse and the occassional cow herd that just randomly turns up. It’s a nice walk.
